Sunday, September 18 - 2:30pm
This month at the Athenaeum Society, Dr. Colin Starnes delivers a presentation about the innovative King’s College Foundation Year Programme, its unusual origins, and its offshoots in Halifax: Humanities 101 for street people and the King’s Seminar for working and retired people. He also considers future directions for post-secondary education in general.
Dr. Starnes is the former President and Vice Chancellor of the University of King’s College. He’s been involved in the King’s Foundation Year Programme since its beginnings in 1972. FYP is the gold-standard of interdisciplinary studies for 1st year students across Canada--often imitated but never duplicated.
