Athenaeum Society Meeting: "Tsunamis, Giant Bugs and the End of the Mastodons: A 520-Million Year Journey on the Aspotogan"
Geologist Garth Prime will be giving an illustrated presentation on the last 520 million years of this province's history, highlighting periods of significance, such as extinctions, tsunamis, earliest reptiles, catastrophic volcanoes, giant bugs and the end of the last glaciation when mammoths and mastodons disappeared. Prime has 30 years' experience in the field and for the past 25 years has worked with Nova Scotia's Department of Natural Resources. The monthly Athenaeum Society presentations take place at Ocean Swells Community Centre, 2726 Highway 329, Northwest Cove. Questions and refreshments follow the presentation and all are welcome.
